My ideal life exists somewhere in my head, usually with lots of evergreen shrubbery, trimmed into thin little tree shapes, lining some dirt and rock path or wandering through the movie version of The Secret Garden I watched as a child. I eat a lot of orange marmalade in that life, on rolls and biscuits, and I sit outside quite a bit with very little to concern me, but very concerned with the doings of bees and ants and wild strawberries.
I think somehow I already knew at five years old that things couldn’t get better than then. Fearless and in love with every bit of life save for getting ready in the mornings. If I could fit as much joy into two hours of my life now as I did during two hour delays from school I’d be the luckiest girl in the world.
What on earth is stopping me?
